Computer and internet

There are computers in each classroom and the Resource Centre for students to use.  In addition there is a computer room which can be used by a whole class of students at the one time.

Information technology is integrated in all subject areas.

When students are enrolled, they are asked to sign an Internet Agreement before being given access.
Students in Years 1 - 6 are given their own user names and passwords.  Students are responsible for the security of their password.

One-to-One Programs

Since 2014 there has been a one-to-one technology class in which students each have their own computer or iPad.
In 2017, the year six one-to-one class will continue to use their Microsoft Surface laptop for class and home use.  The year five class will enter the second year of their iPad program.

BYO iPad Program

A new and exciting feature for Marshall Road is the introduction of a BYO iPad Program for year four students with two classes in 2017.  Families will purchase their own iPad and accessories and take responsibility for the management of these devices.  We recommend an iPad Air 2 Wi-fi or iPad Mini 4 Wi-fi with a capacity of at least 32Gb, a case that protects the device, a set of over ear headphones with microphone and waterproof sleeve/bag.

To set up and use iPads effectively, students and their families are encouraged to access the Apple Support Site (https://support.apple.com/en.au)

For support with specific issues, download the BYO iPad Program Support Document.

Cybersafety and Internet Use

While studens must sign an Internet Agreement on enrolment, students and parents in the iPad Program also discuss and sign a Student Responsible Use and Participation Agreement.

Parents can also access Cybersafety and Internet use which provides links to useful sites.
